Business continuity management

Crisis management goes hand in hand with business continuity management. Identifying critical business processes, services, and products to then implement appropriate mitigating measures in the form of protection, buffers, or redundancy can sometimes even prevent the need to switch to crisis mode. But don’t be under any illusions: business continuity management is not a cure-all. There remains a real chance that disruptions will occur for which even the most comprehensive business continuity plan cannot provide a solution, and in such cases, your crisis management team needs to be ready!

PM assists organisations with their business continuity management. We identify critical business processes, services, and products and provide advice on appropriate mitigating measures. We handle parts of project management and ensure accurate reporting in the business continuity plan, while also monitoring alignment with the organisation’s crisis management processes. In this way, we approach business continuity management in a pragmatic and clear-headed manner, following the principles of ISO 22301 (the international standard for BCM), but without unnecessary frills and with a focus on what truly matters.

Way of working

PM developed its own method, the Quadruple Eight method, to implement business continuity management. The model consists of four consecutive phases:

Analysis

We collect information and use it to prioritize processes, services, and products based on their importance for the continuity of your organisation.

Recommendations

We brainstorm measures in the form of protection, buffers, and redundancy to safeguard critical processes, services, and products, and to ensure your continuity.

Implementation

We assist with implementing the retained measures and ensure reporting in the business continuity plan or related documents.

Testing

We test (parts of) the business continuity plan and train internal stakeholders to work with the plan during realistic simulations and crisis exercises. Adjustments are made where necessary.
