Hanne Dedecke is a junior consultant and trainer at PM and has a background in environmental and prevention management, disaster coordination and climate adaptation. Whilst studying for her Master’s in Environmental and Prevention Management, her interest in safety and risk management extended beyond traditional workplace prevention. Driven by this interest, she moved to Sweden, where she completed a second Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation at Lund University.

During this programme, Hanne explored, amongst other things, how people and communities cope with disasters and climate-related risks. In her thesis, she investigated, together with a fellow student, how social cohesion was experienced and developed during and after the 2021 flooding crisis in Germany. She also undertook an internship in the Czech Republic, where she developed a theoretical framework to investigate how changing climate factors, combined with environmental, physical and social vulnerabilities, can lead to a disproportionate impact from flooding. For this, she built on the experiences of the floods in Jeseník in 2024.

At PM, Hanne supports the team on various projects relating to safety, risk and crisis management. She combines her academic background with a keen interest in the human and organisational aspects of crisis situations. Through training and consultancy, she helps organisations to better understand risks, prepare for crisis situations and further build their resilience.
